Our regular Saturday service begins at 10 AM. It is an interactive event filled with praise, worship, singing, dancing, and much soul searcing... all through particular Jewish expressions.
The service is quite unlike any you may have attended. Be prepared for an inspiring, spirit-filled morning rooted in traditional Jewish ceremony, as well as contemporary Messianic worship. Traditional Jewish holidays are also observed with their own special services.
Although we don't have a choir, we do have a truly awesome praise and worship team. The group varies from time to time, but generally consists of a half dozen or so musicians (playing everything from drums to a marimba) who also add their vocal talents to contemporary Messianic songs of praise.
We also have a Cantor for the more traditional moments of our service. Even if you don't know Hebrew, anyone can respond to the cantorials if he wishes, since we project both Hebrew and English translations of them on the wall. And since we don't use hymnals or prayer books, we also try to make it easy for anyone to join in by projecting lyrics and blessings on the walls as well.
Israeli- style dancing, led by the Judah dance team, is also incorporated into our service, and members of the congregation are encouraged to participate.
The second half of the service (about an hour) is more like the liturgical worship practiced in traditional synagogues. Scripture portions are read from the Torah Scroll in Hebrew and in English. Passages from the New Covenant are read as well. Traditional Jewish prayers and blessings are made, and the Torah Scroll is carried among the congregation in a simple procession.
Then there is a word-inspired teaching, followed by the Aaronic benediction. Finally, there is an invitation given to all who need prayer or ministry to come forward.
As the main service ends, the congregation convenes downstairs for Oneg... a buffet-style lunch in celebration of the Sabbath. This also affords our congregation members, as well as new-comers, a time to fellowship.
