Why Oneg Teams?
Oneg Teams are groups of 5-10 people who assist with community lunches (Oneg) each Shabbat on a rotating basis. These teams are building blocks of our Tikvat Israel community and all new members join Oneg teams. Why? Because as disciples of Yeshua the Messiah of Israel we remember that he impacted the lives of people over the table, and it is no different today. We want to follow in our Messiah's footsteps by prioritizing table fellowship and serving others at the table.
Our kitchen and dining hall are the center of hospitality in our community. This is where the ethic of serving others, blessing others, welcoming others, and working together as a team - all an expression of Ahavat Hashem (God's love) - is nurtured and grown. Our aim is to foster an environment where our community can experience weekly fellowship over a Shabbat meal, and where guests and visitors can enter into the joy of that fellowship, a fellowship that includes the greatest guest of all - the God of Israel.
