Prayer
Prayer is central to our relationship with G-d, as can be seen in the Scriptures and traditional Jewish life. At Tikvat Israel, we view intercessory prayer as vital to the health and welfare of our lives, community and the greater Richmond area. An intercessor is one who petitions, thanks and praises Adonai for the needs and welfare of the people.
Every Tuesday evening at 6:30-8:30 p.m., a core group of intercessors comes together at the synagogue to pray for Israel and Jerusalem, the Richmond Metro area, the Jewish community and Tikvat Israel Congregation. We welcome individual prayer requests, which can be placed in the locked prayer box next to the Bema or submitted electronically at TikvatPrayer@gmail.com. We also welcome reports of how G-d has moved in your life or your family, as we desire to thank G-d for His deeds as much as we petition Him.
If you are part of the Tikvat Israel community and you feel called to intercessory prayer or would like to learn more, please contact us at TikvatPrayer@gmail.com.
